School Announcements: Everyone was back and full of energy today! We told the children about the new baby chicks and the laying hens today. They were all very excited. Please note that Licensing prevents children enrolled at our school from having contact with chickens, ducks, and reptiles; thus, they will enjoy seeing these animals, but will not be in direct contact with them. We will be enjoying the chicken eggs for our personal and staff use, but they will not be served to the children, as eggs need to be USDA inspected for use at our school.

We hope that you had a great break!

Infant Room: The infants listened to stories and songs with Caprice. The kids have been very hungry--snacking all day long. Maybe everyone is having a growth spurt!
Toddler Room: The children loved being outside on this beautiful Spring day. They were able to see the sheep, goats, Queso, and Abby up close and found them to be of great interest! Lunch was a big hit--everyone ate two helpings of spaghetti.
Twos Room: The children enjoyed a tent shared by Gavin's family. The class visited the baby chicks and reviewed colors. The children enjoy going outside after lunch to wind down before nap time.
PreK: The children in PreK loved the spaghetti for lunch today! They were treated to a delicious chunk of pumpkin butter cake from Caprice--she tried the recipe on our blog where a can of pumpkin is mixed with a cake mix--super yummy! Reagan took small groups of children to visit the baby chicks and discussed with them that the chicks were born from eggs, and that they gather together now to stay warm. In Reagan's small group, the children have been working on learning the days of the week. In Leslie's small group, the children reviewed "stick/line" letters: E, F, H, I, K, L, T, X, Z. The Two's class loaned the PreK class a tent shared by Gavin, and it was many pretend things throughout the morning. Both PreK classes are enjoying new wooden animal figures! This afternoon, we are going to do some planting in the garden and visit the farmyard to see the new chicken coop.
