Lifeways Training, Day 4, 6/16/11

Today we reviewed the history of the first Lifeways center in Milwaukee. Many of its trials and tribulations sounded quite familiar to Janie and I. Like us, it sounds like the founders there felt that the center was needed in the community, and that their tenacity during difficult times was often rewarded with great generosity and love from the community.

In the afternoon, we talked quite a bit about how we come to this world with a destiny and a biography...a lesson to learn or an experience to gain. I know what I am here to learn, and it just keeps presenting itself again and again through different people until I learn how to handle it. Do you know what you're here to learn? Guess what? The children in our care are also on this planet with their own path, too. We as teachers must honor this...that all children are on a path.

Here are some pictures from school today!
