REMINDER: Starting tonight at 5:30, paving will be occurring from 183A to Ridgemar Road to the east of our school. Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, August 18, please use Parmer/Ronald Reagan to access the school until further notice. We expect paving in front of our school to be completed by Monday, August 24, in time for the start of school in Leander ISD.
Volunteer Help/Donations Requested: This Saturday morning we are going to be spreading mulch under our new swing set and sorting wood for the new petting farm. We'd love to have some extra hands to help out. Also, we will be filling our new sand box with sand on Monday, August 24. If your child would like to bring a bag of play sand to donate, we'll have a lot of fun adding it to our box!
AM Snack: organic bananas, colby-jack cheese cubes, water
Lunch: organic pasta with organic tomato basil sauce and Pecan Grove grass fed beef, roasted organic carrots, organic milk
PM Snack: organic hummus, organic tortilla chips, water
Infant Room: The infant class listened to books that Caprice read. They played with building blocks and enjoyed playing on the floor. Caprice also helped the children do leg exercises and sing songs.
Toddlers: This morning the class had a nice time outside with Jeanne. They had an exceptionally long afternoon nap. When waking, everyone received a scalp massage with lavender/calendula water (what's not to love about that?). They went outside to play under the shade trees. It was especially exciting to see some farm chores underway, and all had a great time giggling at the antics of the goats, Chevy and Tonka, as they escaped and Janie attempted to corral them. All of the children enjoyed the afternoon snack on a tie-dyed sheet under the trees!
Twos Room: Today the class made a picture with glue and sand. In the classroom, they had fun pretending to be animals with Christin. They sang and danced a lot, and watched as Christing wrote their names on a chalkboard, talking about each letter in each child's name. Everyone took a super-long nap.
PreK: The class did their farm chores this morning. This week the class is learning about chickens. Kari read Henny Penny and the children laughed at all of the silly animals names. The class painted using feathers. Everyone loved the new tie dyed sheets and used them to make a very large dog house!
Summer Camp: Today some of the campers enjoyed helping to peel carrots for lunch. After pretend play in the classroom using our new tie dyed play sheets, we went outside to give the animals extra water and lots of yummy fruit and veggie scraps. Lunch was very popular! During quiet time, the class wrote in their journals, drew pictures, and wrote on wipe-off boards with our new markers. In the afternoon, the class built fairy houses and played volleyball on the front yard.
