After our family potluck, and with a busy and rainy week last week, we never quite found time to share info on the blog. We're back, though!
Today was a drizzly Monday, and everyone returned to school wishing for more time in bed, we think. Also, a very rainy weekend probably meant lots of inside time for the kids this past weekend. Needless to say, everyone was excited to get into their boots and get out in the mud and wet grass.
This week across the school we will be studying birds and talking about kindness.
The Twos class and the PreK class had a good time playing in our downed pine tree and watching the school bus pick up one of our friends. The cats came along! Wacy and Auggie's mom finished weedeating our labyrinth, and this week we will be putting straw down through the path to keep the weeds down so that we can enjoy it each morning! Both classes painted today, and the PreK practiced using scissors to cut paper. We enjoyed finding out special picture drawn by Kari--a bird sitting on a wire. Our story today talked about the fact that everything has a purpose, and even a bramble bush can be a help--ask the PreK children to shed some light on how the bramble bush in the story helped the birds.
The Toddler class enjoyed lots of outside time, including watching our silly goats. They love to stand on their own perch (a stepstool) and look out the windows of their classroom at the comings and goings of the school! If you listen, you'll hear them shouting "hi" or "bye" to you!
In the infant room, Gage had fun talking with Ali at the kitchen table this morning. Emma Grace crawls all over, and enjoys pulling up and playing at the stackable cribs. Porter looks like he put on a few pounds this weekend, and he is one physical guy!
Tomorrow, PreK will be charged with making the blueberry bread for afternoon snack!
